Frankfurt North Pier Head
In 1912, Lake Michigan’s bustling shipping channels had finally started to lead to the establishment of new communities in the region. Frankfort’s bustling harbor needed a new lighthouse to help ships navigate. The result was one of the most modern lighthouses in Northern Michigan. But despite being a relative youngster– at just a little over a century old– the North Pier Lighthouse is a stunningly beautiful must-see on any trip to the charming town of Frankfort.
