Interlochen Center for the Arts, which is located some 26 miles to the southeast of the Sleeping Bear Dunes, is an institution known worldwide for its excellence in the arts. Appropriately, it describes itself as "...the only community in the world that brings together a 2,000 student summer arts camp program, a 450 student fine arts boarding high school, two listener supported public radio stations, an evolving series of art classes for adults and 600 presentations annually by students, faculty, and world-renowned guest artists." Interlochen offers a rich range of concerts, dramatic performances, readings, and exhibitions both by students and esteemed visiting artists.
