Last year’s return of Music On The Mountain was a resounding success, leading to this year’s eight shows. The performances have moved to Wednesday nights at the top of Bay Mountain, The Homestead’s ski hill, with the same stunning backdrop: Evening sunset over Lake Michigan’s sparkling waters. The shows include the return of last season’s three most popular artists, along with a special encore show from Blue Water Ramblers, who played during the first season of MOTM back in 2015.

June 17 Alan Hewitt
Alan Hewitt & One Nation is a powerhouse contemporary jazz/rock/fusion band led by award-winning composer, producer, and keyboardist Alan Hewitt, known for his work with legendary acts like The Moody Blues, Earth, Wind & Fire, and John Lodge, Hewitt brings decades of musical excellence to this electrifying project.

July 1 Kevin DiSimone/Hilary James
Kevin DiSimone and Hilary James have performed and recorded individually and together with Carly Simon, Elton John, Stevie Wonder, Luther Vandross, Bette Midler, Willie Nelson, Billy Preston, Bob James, Rick Braun, Chuck Loeb, Patty Austin and many others. They have performed at Birdland, The Bottom Line, CBGB’s, Carnegie Hall, Radio City Music Hall, Royal Albert Hall, Wembley Stadium, The LA Forum and The Hollywood Bowl.

July 8 Blue Water Ramblers
The Blue Water Ramblers represent the best of the Americana/Folk Music Tradition. They perform in the time-honored stylings of a string band - writing and singing traditional music with modern themes. The Ramblers' repertoire comes right out of their Michigan life experiences of the last fifty years. Their hero, Woody Guthrie, would approve because they're singing the peoples' songs, about the peoples' lives - and they can join right in. To quote the Grand Rapids Press: "The Ramblers deep love for good music and the people who attend their shows is evident throughout their performance!"

July 22 Cat Daddy
Randy Marsh, drummer and harmonica player, says he learned from the best: Miles Davis, John Coltrane and Frank Zappa. His musical inspiration came at a young age, sparked by his mother, Mary Lou, who constantly was spinning the latest jazz albums. Now the 2013 West Michigan Jazz Society Jazz Musician of the Year is bringing his new organ trio Cat Daddy to The Homestead.

August 5 Jabo Bihlman*
Jabo Bihlman is a blues/rock guitarist and vocalist who has won Emmy Awards for his music on television shows such as Burn Notice and Sons of Anarchy, among many others. He was also music director for Chicago blues legend Son Seals and is one-third of the band Grinder Blues.

August 12 Seth Bernard
Seth Bernard, described by Northern Express as “a guitar-toting folkie known for his uplifting live shows, his prolific body of work, and his numerous efforts to bring about social change,” was born and raised on Earthwork Farm in Lake City. He was brought up in the folk and farmstead culture combining agriculture, the arts and community. That led to his founding Earthwork Music, a Michigan-based collective of independent musicians who focus their efforts on community healing.

August 19 Joe Taylor*
Joe Taylor is a Grammy-nominated contemporary jazz guitarist from New York City known for his genre-bending style and dynamic stage presence, acclaimed guitarist, composer and producer. Watch and listen as he showcases his signature blend of jazz, rock, chill, and cinematic soundscapes.
September 9 East Bay Drive*
East Bay Drive is a Traverse City-based smooth jazz band. Vocalist Miriam Pico and East Bay Drive keyboardist David Chown have a long-standing musical partnership, and she will be joining the group as it performs some pop classics from the 60s through the 80s.

All shows start at 7 p.m., with the exception of Sept. 9, which will begin at 6:30. There will be a 15-minute intermission around 8 pm. Transportation to the Top of Bay Mountain is available a half hour prior to show via chairlift or golf cart ride.
Tickets are $22 for adults, $6 children 5-12, and are available at TicketTailor.com/events/musiconthemountain.com.
Food and beverages will be available to purchase at the event. There will be local beer and wine offerings. You are welcomed to bring your own picnics. No outside alcohol is allowed.
There are 110 seats available on a first-come, first-served basis, the remaining is open lawn seating. This is an outdoor event, please feel free to bring your own chairs and blankets.
