Is this a great deal or what? With the fall vacation season on the way, the National Park Service is getting the word out about an incredible deal they have for seniors.
The “America The Beautiful” lifetime senior pass is available to United States citizens or permanent residents 62 years of age or older. The pass can be used at over 2,000 federal recreation sites across the nation, including national parks, national wildlife refuges, and many national forest lands.
The senior pass admits the pass owner and any passengers traveling with him/her in a non-commercial vehicle at per-vehicle fee areas (or the pass owner and three additional adults where per-person fees are charged).
How To Get Yours
The pass may be obtained two ways, either in-person for just $10 at a federal recreation site—like the Sleeping Bear Dunes’ Philip A. Hart Visitors Center at the corner of M-72 just east of the intersection with M-22 in Empire) OR through the mail. To obtain a pass you must have photo identification to verify that you are a U.S. citizen or permanent resident 62 years of age or older.
